The writing is on the wall.”  What does that mean to you?  Doom?  That is EXACTLY what it meant for King Belshazzar.

During a banquet he held for his nobles, his wives and concubines, they drank from goblets of silver and gold that had been taken from the Temple in Jerusalem, all the while praising the gods of gold, silver, bronze, iron and wood. Imagine his surprise as he watched a disembodied hand write words on a wall! He called for Daniel, who interpreted the mysterious writing for Belshazzar, declaring God’s message that Belshazzar’s pride had brought his downfall and that his days as king were numbered. That very night the king was assassinated, and Darius the Mede took his place.  You can read the passage here, in Daniel 5.

What does the writing on your wall say about your walk with God?  Your marriage?  Ask God to reveal to you what you have been sowing and building with your words and actions into your life and marriage.  Wives, have you been encouraging your husband with your words?  Have you been his #1 cheerleader?  Husbands, have you been nurturing your wives, enabling them to be all God created them to be?  Have you been protecting your wife?  Have you been leading her in the way God intended?

The writing on the wall doesn’t have to mean doom for your marriage.  Our God is the god of second chances! Thank God for the hope and power of the resurrection! Take what God reveals to you and give it to Him.  Seek His forgiveness.  Choose to walk away from the wall changed, empowered by His truth, and walk out His Word in your marriage.  God is the god of hope- as long as you are breathing and willing to let the Holy  Spirit work in you, He will change you.  Let Him change the writing on your wall to a message of HOPE!

I am not a very patient person so waiting is very difficult for me.  I want things to be done right away and on my time table.  I am the kind of person that will sit and wait and think on something nonstop, as if that will make it happen somehow.  Waiting, for me, can be completely debilitating.  When we are waiting on the Lord to answer a prayer, heal a love one or change ones heart it can be even harder.  We can’t see what He is doing most of the time.   His time table is completely different than ours.  He see’s the whole picture at once while we get only a tiny piece.  But our God is so merciful,  He gives us hope.  Hope in tomorrow and hope for today.  This hope is what makes waiting bearable.  Staying in Gods word helps us not to become debilitated in life.  It gives us hope in his promises as we wait on him.  He WILL answer our prayers.:

Isaiah 55:11……. “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

Isaiah 65:24…….. “It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer, and while they are speaking I will hear.”

Jeremiah  29:12…….. “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

Jeremiah 33:3……… “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things…”

Jeremiah 1:12…….. “I am ready to perform My Word.”

John 14:13…….. “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

John 14:14…….. “If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.”

John 15:7………. “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

John 15:16…….. “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”

John 16:23…….. “…whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.”

John 16:24……. “Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

James 5:16…….. “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

Job 22:27…… “You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you…”

1John 5:14…….. “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

1John 5:15…….. “And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

Matthew 21:22………”…whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

Matthew 18:18…….. “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Matthew 18:19…….. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

Now I am just waiting on silly little quail to hatch but God cares about me and what I care about, even the small little things.  “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

What did I do today?  I didn’t sit in front of the incubator with my chin in my hands.  Inspired by my friend Stephanie, my family and I went huckleberry picking!

My husband’s friend has 20 acres up in the foothills of Mt Baker with lots and lots of huckleberries.

Look what we found!

My boys called it an alligator lizard, don’t know the real name.

Here is my boys trying to see if it likes huckleberriesIt took a few bites at it,  although I think it was in self defense.   Altogether we had a beautiful day and picked over 4 QTS of huckleberries!!

As for my quail eggs..

I think i saw that striped one in the back wiggle a little.

Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
